  • Jim Philps made the trek out to Kearney, Nebraska all the way from Arizona to fulfill his bucket list item of attending the Rocky Mountain Race Week trip in his awesome 1965 Ford Falcon with a blown Chevy Small Block under the hood! His copilots include his wife and dog for navigation and good company! Jim couldn’t be happier to be part of the craziness that goes along with these race week type of events. It should have at bare minimum a 427, 428 , 429! It's a Ford people!!
    What ever happened to factory Acid dipped Falcons with a Paxton super charged big cubic inch Ford storming the drag track with a T-6 with a 9 inch . I'm getting old. You just don't put Chevys into Fords and vice verse.

      I would rather have a worked 351 Cleveland with a top loader than a 454chev the only reason they put chevs in fords over here in new Zealand in the past was because chevs were half the price to build it was financial not because they were better engines just cheapert engine parts but now aftermarket ford parts are good and cheap getting a 347 -408 Windsor stroker or stroked Cleveland is affordable oh and blow chevs of the same displacement away

  • @brucereimer4604
    @brucereimer4604 8 лет назад +1

    In my 35 years of experience I have learned that your Falcon would have been cheaper, faster, and more reliable if you would have run a small block Ford in your Ford. Why in the name of all that's sensible would you put a Chevy engine in it? Come on...I dare you to give me a reasonable explanation! Oh...and 1320 video...why do you always feature Chevy powered Fords? What about Ford powered Chevys? There are lots of them...just check out the Ford powered Chevys Facebook page. True media isn't biased. Is 1320 video true media or do you have an agenda? Talk to me.

  • @6PrinceofDarkness6
    @6PrinceofDarkness6 8 лет назад +1

    This really is a good video on 1320, simply because of what it truly is- an older couple wanting to have new experiences, with a drag racer that's built well enough and heavily enough to both run high 10s AND travel hundreds of miles to the next place- considering that so many racers on here have drag cars that can barely be used anywhere but the track, that's one hell of a feat.

    Wow! First, Jim said the car is a '61 (not a '65) and it's runn'n a BB 454 (bored .30 over = 468ci), aside from that this is a great story. Jim's 70 years young and chasing his bucket list. I'm just 4 months shy of 70 myself and I can tell you this ol fella and his sweety are Goden Age Gems! First, to have the flexibility and strength to be pulling the wrenches on his little Falcon is a feat in and of itself, then he's still got the mental toughness to drive it in this Rocky Mountain event and pedal it into the 10's! Well done Jim, WELL DONE ol fella!! That's also on my bucket list, to take a run at Drag Week in a 9 or 10 second car but I'd have to could get lucky and win the lottery first, then I and my dear Wife would join them!

    this was pretty cool. I think it's awesome to see someone like this not only get to mark it off his bucket list, but to do well in the process. Knock him all you want, a 10sec car is still moving and realistically will take most stuff on the street anyway. Besides, I think he's more of a cruiser anyway

    Well !! Small block chevy, that ain't natural for a Ford man, and not two swift a run for a blown small block , just my opinion !!!

    Gorgeous falcon. And then there's a 4 banger running into the 9's somehow, well we know how but still craziness.

    shit hate to admit it but the Australians have got the upper had on engine rebuilds and power technology than the usa these guys dandy engines and stone bros racing make good drag engines and circuit car engines like they use in touring car masters

    Reminds me of Burt Munroe finally living his dream. But a Chevy motor in a Ford shell? That’s a no no.
